Let’s think together about the true ‘Inclusive Smart Society’ , they are not just shiny trendy words.

Social problems cannot be solved by technology alone. To achieve the goals of “Inclusive Smart Society”, it is essential that we center the human in the development and deployment of new technologies.

I’ve been living in Japan since 2011. I am looking forward to share my experience in Japan and discuss how technology, which is my major, can contribute to a more inclusive society.

My research interests include education for visual impairment and inclusive education. I am exploring ways to increase inclusion and diversity through collaborative research with colleagues in the US and Europe. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Inclusive smart society is an educational program that focuses on community with equality and equity. I hope we all can learn and grow together.

We look forward to sharing an inclusive smart society through physical education and sports.

Japan and the US are close allies in academics. I hope OSU students consider coming to Tsukuba to study with us.

Yasuyuki (Yas) Motoyama is an Associate Professor at the City and Regional Planning of the Knowlton School.

Peter V. Paul, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Educational Studies at The Ohio State University.

Dr. Sue Sutherland is a Professor in the Department of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University.

Dr. Ann Allen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Studies at The Ohio State University.

Danene Fast is an Assistant Professor – Clinical and Faculty Lead for the Programs in Visual Impairments and Orientation and Mobility (O&M) in the Department of Teaching and Learning at The Ohio State University.

Dr. Matthew Brock is a Professor of Special Education and Faculty Associate at the Crane Center for Early Childhood Research and Policy at The Ohio State University.

Tiffany Wild is associate professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning at The Ohio State University.

Ana Puga is a Professor of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts at The Ohio State University.

Brett Zehner was a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Ohio State University at the time and is now a lecturer in Artificial Intelligence and Communications at University of Exeter in England.

Jackie Goodway was a Professor in the Department of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University.
